How long does the QROPS transfer take to process?

Financial Freedom

The transfer of a pension into a QROPS usually takes 2 to 3 months to complete.  However your current provider has a lot to do with this as it is usually them that will slow proceedings down if they delay in responding.  Each particular case varies in timescale and individual circumstances can also play a part in the length of time required for a successful transfer.

The first part of the process will be for you to complete a letter of authority which allows AMASS to request the information from your UK pension provider such as projection of the benefits you would receive when you retire, charging structure, fund performance, fund value and transfer value and details of any penalties incurred if you decide to proceed.

Your current pension provider will also then be able to release the relevant transfer forms.  The information received will allow us to provide you with a detailed breakdown of the current benefits being received and inform you of the advantages and disadvantages, if any, of leaving your pension in the UK or to transfer your pension into a QROPS.
